Love is the Bridge began with a line by Rumi: “Love is the bridge between you and everything.”

I wrote these words directly onto the canvas and began painting over them, allowing colour, marks and layers to develop intuitively. As the painting evolved, the words gradually disappeared from view, while remaining embedded within the work.

Made for someone I love, the painting holds something that does not need to remain visible in order to be present.
