Hide and Seek explores the fragile relationship between memory and the material objects through which we remember.
A photograph or ordinary object can suddenly bring back a person, place or moment. Yet these objects are themselves vulnerable to time. The work asks: when the object disappears, what happens to the memory it carries?
Family photographs were transferred onto delicate paper and submerged in coloured liquid, where the images gradually faded, stained and transformed over time. The resulting fragments were presented alongside brief recollections of everyday moments.
As the images became increasingly indistinct, memory persisted in another form — both vivid and obscure, held partly in objects yet extending beyond them.
